Electromyography (EMG) Scanner

Electromyography Scan of nerves and muscles

EMG Scanning: Dr. Dennis J. Fitterer

Electormyography (EMG) is a diagnostics procedure that assesses the health of muscles and the nerve cells that control them. An EMG device uses technology called electrodes to transmit or detect electric signals. The results of EMG can reveal muscle dysfunction, nerve dysfunction or problems related to the nerve-to-muscle signal transmission.

Common Conditions Associate with EMG

Dennis J. Fitterer uses EMG to help diagnose or rule out a number of conditions. He may conduct an EMG if you are showing any of the following signs or symptoms:

  • Numbness
  • Tingling
  • Muscle Weakness
  • Muscle Pain or Cramping
  • Certain Types of Limb Pain

Results of EMG

The results of an EMG are discussed between the patient and Dr. Fitterer.  Dependent upon the results, Dr. Fitterer may recommend specific types of therapy that are best suited to treat the specific injury or disease.  The EMG is a powerful tool and helps to find the best therapy options available to treat the patient or condition.
